About Dr. Peterson
Dr. Peterson grew up in western Colorado, graduating from Gunnison High School in 1985. His undergraduate degree is in biology from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He received his MD from University of Colorado Health Sciences Center with honors. He attended medical school on a health professions scholarship, and was commissioned as a Lieutenant on graduating. His internship was at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He spent three years as a flight surgeon, and then completed his residency in Urology at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA. After completing his naval obligation, Dr. Peterson came to Montrose to join Dr. Shannon in practice in 2003. His practice is in general adult and pediatric urology, with an emphasis on prostate cancer, and robotic assisted prostatectomy.

About Dr. Shannon
Dr. Shannon has practiced in western Colorado for over 35 years. He received his MD from Creighton University, and also completed his residency in Urology there. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam era as a general medical officer, and anesthesia provider. Following residency, he moved to Montrose to establish his practice. He and his wife Maureen raised three children in Montrose, and two of his children are also MD's, practicing Orthopedics, and Obstetrics. Dr. Shannon is focused on general adult and pediatric urology.
